| Minister Parrish Holloman |
| Associate Minister |
He is in the 8th grade at Thomas Edison Magnet School and a current member of the Connecticut Association for the Gifted (CAG). He was recently nominated to the Junior National Honor Society in Washington, D.C. and awarded a scholarship to participate at the SENG conference for gifted students in Orlando, Florida. Parrish is a member of the Meriden-Wallingford NAACP Youth Council. He loves challenges, to read, playing baseball and basketball. When asked how he feels about preaching God’s word, he says he is fine with it. He’s just going to do what the Lord told him to do and if he doesn’t know how, he knows that the Holy Spirit will help him.
He loves the Lord, studying the Word and going to church. While growing in his walk with the Lord, he enjoys hearing many preachers but two in particular are special to him – Pastor Glenn Rogers (Uncle Glenn) and Pastor John Cotten (Uncle John). But most of all he loves his Pastor, Rev. Dr. W. Vance Cotten, Sr.
While under Pastor Cotten’s teaching, Parrish has grown in the Word and in his spiritual walk. He watches everything his Pastor does (preach, teach, sing, etc.) He takes notes while Pastor is preaching and reviews them later. If Pastor says it, that’s the way it’s supposed to be.
Minister Holloman preached his initial sermon at the age of nine on Sunday, March 11, 2007 at Shiloh Baptist Church. His scripture text was 1 Samuel Chapter 3 verses one through ten.
