Dr. Marveline Haynes
Associate Minister

A native of Eufaula, Alabama , Marv’s parents, Uriah and Evelyn Haynes were devout Christians with a strong belief that reliance on God always yields blessings.  Scripture quoted most often was Psalm 23:1.  The Lord is my shepherd and I shall not want.  Church attendance was without option.

After graduating high school, Marv moved to Connecticut , and within one month became a member of Shiloh Baptist Church .  The pastor, Rev.  L. L. Woods recognized the potential within her to achieve anything she aspired to, including further educational pursuits.  Pastor Woods encouraged Marv to never miss the opportunity for spiritual and educational growth.

Marv’s current pastor, The Rev. Dr. W. Vance Cotten, Sr., continues to set the stage for learning.  Believing Hebrews 11:1, Faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see… without faith, it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to Him must believe that he exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him.  Hebrews 11:6.

The presence of the Lord and the reality of His word will give you peace and a desire to be a doer of God’s word and not hearers only.  James 1:22.
